Too Close to the Sun

Got this somewhere in the archives . It’s from when I had just started writing. Men I have grown a lot!

Cupid’s unexpected visit

Gave you a new set of wings

And along with it a bender for risks

So, you set out to test its speed

Out in the cool breeze.

On each gained speed

The wind gained its strength

And before you knew it

You were moving up straight.

You made a stop at the stars

It was beautiful there at the stars

All your wounds became nothing but scars

But then,

Greed caught up with you

So, you set out for the sun

On your way,

The view of the moon was breathtaking

And I swear it was yours for the taking

But if your eyes by greed has been overtaken

Then your heart by greed becomes driven

You decided to go straight for the sun

And that is when your downfall began.

The heat became too much

It became clear that you were to either

retreat or crash

But you had just come too far to be stopped by that!

That is when you dived straight for the sun.

You had the moon but it was just not

enough

You went too close to the sun

And now it has melted you down.
